International Master Scholarship at Ghent University, A Master Grants for Students from Developing Countries Belgium

Ghent University in Belgium annually announces a master scholarship program which is specifically available for international students who coming from any developing countries. The master scholarship will offer full package to the successful applicants. This award is offered on annual basis.
Program Description
During its meeting of 23 May 2001, the Board of Directors decided that special measures would be taken to provide postgraduate scholarships to candidates from developing countries who wish to obtain a master's degree at Ghent University. The scholarship consists of an allowance of €1000 per month and the yearly tuition fee with a maximum of 80€. Once you get an intstallation fee of 500€. In case of increased tuition fee for the master's programme, Ghent University will only reimburse the refundable part. Airline ticket and visa costs are carried by the student.

  • Yearly reimbursement of the tuition fee with a maximum of €80
Eligibility and Criteria
Degree: Applicants for master's programmes should already have obtained a bachelor degree when they submit the application.

Nationality: The applicants must come from and should be nationals of one of the developing countries on the Master Grants country list (PDF). Priority, however, will be given to the categories on the country list with the lowest levels of development and income. Priority will also be given to students applying for an ICP-programme whose country is not on the VLIR-country list but on the UGent list.

Language and proficiency: The application is to be made in English. The applicant should have a very good command of the English language. Click here to see the requirements.

Applicants who already received a Master Grant in the past, are not eligible.

Application Procedure
New students, which are students who never applied before for a Master Grant, need to take the following steps:

  • Content of your e-mail ;  Your first and last name (surname) separately, The complete postal address
  • The date and place of birth
  • The programme you are applying for
  • A confirmation that you have read, understood and accept the admission requirements
The application form will be sent by e-mail to you after an application file has been opened in our database.

Send your completed application form  together with all the required documents before the 23rd of December 2011 to the International Admission Desk. Postmark date will serve as proof.
If the outcome is successful, then the International Admissions Desk will forward the application and letter of admission to the Department of Research Affairs. No further action needs to be taken by the applicant.

Once the Research Coordination Office gets your application from the International Admissions Desk, you will be informed by e-mail.

International Engineering MSc Scholarships (20 Elite MSc scholarships) at Faculty of Engineering and Design at University of Bath - UK

The Faculty of Engineering and Design at University of Bath in the United Kingdom now provided a master scholarship award (20 Elite MSc scholarships) for any overseas student pursuing MSc in Engineering program at the university. International Graduate Scholarship Program of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK Scholarship) - Turkey

The The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) yearly presents TÜBİTAK scholarship awards for graduate students which is available overseas applicants. The graduate scholarship will be including 2 years for the Masters and 4 years for the PhD program. It will cover all of the academic expenses plus living cost of the winners.

Program Description
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Scholarship (TÜBTAK Scholarship) is offered on annual basis. The institution grants scholarships for any overseas students (exclude Turkish students) seeking to pursue a graduate degree in Turkey in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.

Award Amount
The following are the detail description of scholarship package:
  • A monthly stipend of 1.500 Turkish Liras (TL) for MSc/MA students
  • A monthly stipend of 1.800 Turkish Liras (TL) for PhD students
  • Tuition Fee (up to 2.000 Turkish Liras)
  • A monthly allowance for health insurance coverage for the award holder only.
  • All scholarship awardees who successfully complete a Master’s program will be rewarded scholarship for a PhD program on the condition that they are admitted to a program at a Turkish University.

Eligibility and Criteria
  1. Applicants must be 30 years old or younger for the MSc/MA programs and 35 years old or younger for the PhD programs on the first day of the application period.
  2. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens. Applicants who hold dual citizenship with Turkey are not eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree or who are currently enrolled in their fourth year of college are eligible to apply for scholarship for the MSc/MA programs.
  4. Applicants who are currently enrolled in an MSc/MA program in Turkey are also eligible for the scholarship on the condition that they have not yet completed their third semester in the program.
  5. Applicants holding an MSc/MA degree or currently enrolled in a master’s program who intend to enroll in a PhD program in Turkey are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  6. Applicants who are currently enrolled in a PhD program in Turkey are also eligible to apply on the condition that they have not yet completed their six semester in the program.

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) At The University of Adelaide, Australia

Program Description
The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking postgraduate research study. Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort. The selection for scholarships is extremely competitive. A number of ASI scholarships may be available in the mid year round of scholarships for semester 2, 2014 to outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline.

The ASI provides:
  • Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);
  • An annual living allowance of approximately $25,392 (2014 value) for the normal duration of the program; and
  • If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.

Eligibility and Criteria
  1. Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree
  2. ASI Scholarship will be awarded strictly on academic merit. Extra-curricular achievements will not be considered.
  3. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
  4. Those undertaking research via remote candidature are ineligible.
  5. International applicants are not eligible for an ASI if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award, unless they can establish that they were unable to apply for an ASI in the last round of the previous calendar year.
  6. International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting English language proficiency requirements by the closing date are not eligible for an ASI.
  7. International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
  8. Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as 'international students' and must maintain 'international student' status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
  9. Scholarships holders must commence study at The University of Adelaide in semester 2, 2012. No ASI may be commenced after 30 November 2012.
  10. Scholarship winners will not be permitted to defer commencement until 2013.
  11. Applicants who applied in previous international major scholarship rounds are not eligible to apply again.
  12. The offer of an ASI scholarship is contingent upon a student not being offered another award by the Commonwealth of Australia, The University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor. 2014 Ed Bradley Scholarship in Journlism - USA

The Ed Bradley Scholarship yearly presented up to $10000 for any college journalists students in USA. The potential applicants should be intending to have career in electronic journalism. Please provide your complete application before May 2, 2014.

Program Description
The Ed Bradley Scholarship program is currently accepting applications. This is a $10,000 award for aspiring college journalists. All of the applicants are requiered to a cover letter which is addressed to the following topics:
  1. Discuss your current and past journalism experience.
  2. Describe how you would use the funds if you were to receive the scholarship.
  3. Discuss your choice to pursue a career in electronic journalism.
  4. Include in your cover letter 3-5 links to your best and most relevant work samples to the scholarship for which you are applying.  Work samples should be broadcast (television/radio) or online news pieces.  Entrants are encouraged to upload their work samples to sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Sound Cloud and other platforms, then inlude links to these samples in the cover letter.  Entrants are also encouraged to provide a link to their personal website, if this is available, or social media platforms if they are used professionally.  Please discuss your role in each of the pieces (producer, editor, reporter, etc).
