Postgraduate Study Scholarship/Irish Aid IDEAS Scholarships by Embassy of Ireland - Ireland

The embassy of Ireland yearly offers Irish Aid IDEAS Scholarships that's available for postgraduate students in the field of business, finance and other disciplines at the UCD Michael Smurfit Business School in Dublin, Ireland. This scholarship is only available for applicants from Vietnam who committed to returning to Vietnam after their masters/MBA. The scholarship is a full scholarship. Deadline: January 17th 2014.

Program Description
University College Dublin (UCD) Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2014 Irish Aid IDEAS Scholarships programme for postgraduate study in business, finance and other disciplines. UCD Michael Smurfit Business School is Ireland’s leading business school and is one of less than sixty schools worldwide to be awarded all three major business school accreditations, AACSB (USA), EQUIS (Europe) and AMBA (UK). Presently, UCD Michael Smurfit Business School is ranked 64th in the world and 18th in Europe by the prestigious Financial Times ranking while our full-time MBA programme is ranked 62nd in the world’s top 100 and 20th in Europe according to the Economist Intelligence Unit. We are the only Irish business school to gain a place in both of the aforementioned rankings. The successful candidates of this Scholarship competition will be awarded an opportunity to study at one of the world’s leading business schools and to live in one of Europe’s most dynamic and beautiful countries.

Award Amount
This scholarship award will cover all of the financial needs such as; Return airfare, full tuition fees, public health insurance, a stipend to cover accommodation and subsistence costs, settling-in allowance, and book and clothing allowances (where appropriate). Scholarships are for individuals for full time study of 12 months duration for MBA or Master Programme.

Eligibility and Criteria
Please note that the scholarship is only targeted for Vietnamese students and who meet the following conditions:
MBA Applicants
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience
  • Must meet our minimum English Language requirement in a recognised English Language Test
  • Must achieve a minimum score of 550 or higher in the GMAT test
MSc Applicants
  • Must have a minimum of 1 years prior work experience.
  • Must meet our minimum English Language requirement in a recognised English Language Test
  • Must have achieved a minimum overall final grade of 7.0/10 or higher (or equivalent GPA grade) in their undergraduate degree.
The Scholarship Programme is open to Vietnamese citizens resident in Vietnam who are committed to returning to Vietnam after their masters/MBA. We particularly encourage applications from public sector, ethnic minorities, people with disability and other marginalised groups. In exceptional cases, work experience may compensate for academic experience. This scholarship programme is intended to support canditates who would otherwise be unable to access overseas postgraduate opportunities.

Master/MBA in the following field: Business Analytics, Quantitative Finance, Finance, Business – Innovation through ICT, International Business, Management Consultancy, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Strategic Management & Planning, Supply Chain Management and Strategic Management Accounting.

Other Information
Applications for MBA and MSc programmes will be accepted from the 7th October 2013. All applicants must have achieved the minimum score required for entry to UCD in a recognised English Language test such as TOEFL or IELTS before the final application deadline of January 17th 2014.
