Phd and Research Scholarship in Housing, Urban and Real Estate at Heriot-Watt University - UK

The Phd and Research scholarship is proudly offered by Heriot-Watt University for any eligible students at the university. Both full and Partial scholarship are now available for students holding master and pursuing research and doctoral program in , Urban and Real Estate Research in the School of the Built Environment. The selected applicants will be granted competitive merit, taking into account the academic ability of the applicant and the alignment between his/her research interests and the Institute’s research strengths. Your completed application should be handed before 28 February 2014.

Program Description
Phd and Research Scholarship in Housing, Urban and Real Estate are provided in two types, both full and partial scholarship. The Scholarships will be awarded by competitive merit, taking into account the academic ability of the applicant and the alignment between his/her research interests and the Institute’s research strengths.

Eligibility and Criteria
All of the interested candidates should have a first-class honours degree in a relevant subject or a 2.1 honours degree plus masters (or equivalent). Scholarships will be awarded by competitive merit, taking into account the academic ability of the applicant and the alignment between his/her research interests and the Institute’s research strengths.

Please complete the online application form: http://www.hw.ac.uk/student-life/how-to-apply/postgraduate.htm.  Please select PhD programme ‘Urban Studies’ within the online application and indicate that you are applying for a Scholarship in the Institute for Housing, Urban and Real Estate Research, School of the Built Environment.

Please include the full project title in your application. You must provide a written proposal which is between 2 and 5 pages of A4 outlining your proposed area of research and how it relates to the selected project.  You will also need to provide a copy of your degree certificate and relevant transcripts, proof of your ability in the English language (if English is not your mother tongue or if you have not already studied for a degree that was taught in English) and references from two academic sources (please enter your full name and the project title on the Referee Report Form and forward to your referees for completion and return).

Applications will be reviewed throughout March and April and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by May 2014. Applicants must be available to start the course of study on 1st October 2014.
